The greatness of Lapland lies in the fact that the seasons are clearly different. Spring is the best time to enjoy the fresh air of Lapland and explore the awakening nature. Lapland’s spring is glorious – the increased amount of light and the warming weather wakes up both nature and people from the cold, dark and long winter.

Events

As nature wakes up from a dark, cold winter, so do the people in the villages of Lapland! During the spring, there are many events to explore in Lapland!v

“Levin Megavappu” is a popular spring event in Levi. On 1st of May, people gather together to celebrate spring and enjoy the sunniest last slides of the ski season. There are plenty of things to do for everyone, from toddlers to more experienced skiers.

Ice Fishing

The spring sun, white snow blankets and thermal coffee. Ice fishing is about sitting back and relaxing. Catching fish isn’t a must, enjoying the peace and silence is mandatory.

Levi’s numerous lakes and rivers offer many perfect ice fishing spots. Fun even for the little ones in the family!

The mountain lakes in Ylläs are well suited for ice fishing. Lakes usually start to melt in May.

Snowshoeing

Buckle on a pair of snowshoes and go on an adventure! With snowshoes, you can move almost anywhere in winter nature, as the shoes support the explorer on the snow. With snowshoes, you can explore the winter forest in places you can’t reach by ski or snowmobile!
